We get to see BabyW on Wednesday!

So far this baby seems to be pretty comfortable where he's at! Our due date is technically in 2 days, but obviously that is just an estimate anyway... and first-borns tend to be late. I've had some progress as far as my body prepping for labor but not enough that he is ready to come out just yet. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and she seemed to think there's a good chance he'll continue to camp out a little longer. We'll have an ultrasound and non-stress test (for the baby) on Wednesday just to check out his size and make sure that he looks like he's doing fine in there... and so long as all is well with him, we'll just continue to wait. Of course I would rather see him in person, but at least we do have something fun to look forward to now on Wednesday no matter what!

Then, I have another appointment for next Monday, so if he's still hanging out, we'll discuss options. They wouldn't want me to go much beyond a week or so after my due date for safety reasons, but I'd definitely prefer him to come naturally than to have to induce anyway, so as much as we're ready and excited to meet him, we're okay with waiting a bit longer. I know he'll definitley be here in the next two weeks, hopefully less!

Please pray for us: that things would progress naturally and that we don't have to be induced, and that BabyW continues to be healthy as we wait... also pray that we would have peace with whatever our doctor recommends should we get to that point. Not that being induced is the end of the world, but it does typically mean a much longer and harder labor... which obviously isn't ideal!

  1. I think he's holding out for my birthday. Yeah, definitely.

  2. Melissa, Amy was induced and labor lasted less than 5 hours - You were induced and the labor was almost the same. Inducing labor isn't so bad....it's all good --- You're going to do great....Exciting days ahead...

  3. oh my word. Our babies are definitely thinking along the same lines. Here is some good news about our situation...

I read a lot online and talked with two moms personally. There were many stories of women with high and posterior cervix who were told similar things as we have been. Most of the stories I read and the two women I talked with, once they actually went into labor, the baby and everything sifted down and they were able to have natural births! That was really encouraging to read/hear and I wanted to share this with you!

It is still discouraging to think about, honestly. But in the end our baby's will be in our arms and healthy. I will be praying that everything shifts into wear it needs to be for you!

It's pretty crazy how similar everything is for us both right now, whoa. Maybe God knew we needed to encourage each other? I think so. We're walking through very similar things right now! Crazy.

oh and I'm not sure what we will have to do if my blood pressure is down. I HOPE they let me wait everything out until I absolutely need a c section. It's all up in the air, we will see soon.

God bless you and Baby W!!

  4. I can't wait to see pictures of your little man. I'll be praying that everything happens naturally for you...and my labor with Aiden was induced and only took 6 hours--Jocelyn took longer even though I went into labor on my own...:-) Stay strong. He'll be here any day now!
