Oh well...

I guess this really is a bit too girly, huh? :( I just think this Boppy cover is so cute, and had registered for it before we knew we were having a boy... so now I'm sadly trying to convince myself to delete it from the list and find something more boy-ish. Even if it WOULD look cute sitting on my couch. Sigh...

Saying Hi to Daddy

Mike got to feel our baby boy moving for the first time! He wasn't real active last night, but I had my hand on my belly and realized that I actually felt him from the outside rather than just the little inside gentle flutters... so I had Mike try and he felt two little kicks. :) It's exciting to know that we'll be feeling him more and more as the weeks progress!

Fun Ideas

So far this is the bedding set I'm liking best... I'm still shopping around, so it's not a definite, but I thought I'd share some of my ideas! I'm not much for "theme" rooms... I tend to like more modern design, with simple but bold patterns... So we'll see. It's a little tough to get a nursery ready since we don't yet know where we'll be living when this little boy arrives, but it'll come together somehow!

We went out last night with my mom to buy some cute baby boy clothes and that was lots of fun. Mike picked out a couple things...and I was impressed: he's got good taste...but I knew that already! :)

Baby Wellington is a...

BOY! That's right, it was unmistakable... we have a little man on the way! He is healthy and growing just fine... actually measuring a little larger than average (hopefully he'll slow down before I have to give birth!) So we are definitely excited to finally know! We'd have been happy either way... but now Mike has a little Michigan fan to brainwash and I get to have fun figuring out what the heck you do with little boys! :) It'll be an adventure I'm sure!

Hopefully this baby will cooperate and we'll know today if it's a boy or a girl! :) I'm headed to my appointment in just a few minutes... hmmm, maybe we should just keep it a surprise until the baby is born... Just kidding... I can't keep secrets! :) I'll let you all know soon! Most of all we're just praying that the baby is healthy and growing and doing well!

A Fun Weekend

I first felt ever-so-slight, occasional baby movements at about 17 weeks... but this weekend, this little baby has been pretty active! I have felt lots of movement which is definitely fun! We've been pretty active too and usually I'm sad for the weekend to end... but since we're so excited for our ultrasound on Tuesday, I actually don't mind the time flying by! Just 2 more days!

We also got to welcome another little baby into the world yesterday: Luke Michael Perkins was born to our good friends Jess & Stu, and big sister Eliana and we enjoyed meeting and holding him...such a sweet & peaceful little boy! :) Congrats Perkins family!

Home Sweet Home

After lots of prayer, we decided to put our condo on the market March 1st. We are well aware of the state of the housing market, but we know that this is the best step for us right now. Knowing that the best job opportunities for Mike are still outside of Hampton Roads, we need to get out of the commitment of the house so that when the time comes for him to search elsewhere, we'll be available to go! No, we're not leaving the area any time this year, but we want to be open and available for the future. So we're working hard to de-clutter and pack up and store extra stuff! We've gotten a lot accomplished, but March 1st is approaching fast! We'll give it until June and if we haven't sold it yet, we'll plan to stay through baby's arrival and then we'll re-evaluate. So... if you know of anyone looking for a great condo in a great location... let us know! We love the place, it's just time to go...

19 Weeks down, 21 to go!

I was starting to get discouraged this week because so many people had come up to me and asked when I was going to start showing... suggesting what I kind of agreed with, that I didn't look very pregnant. (Well, that's not such a bad thing to hear, except when you're worried that since you are still under your pre-pregnancy weight, maybe the baby isn't growing like it should.) So today when this dress I had ordered came in and I was trying it on... I was reassured with what I saw and I had to take a picture of my much more obvious "baby bump" to share! :) I can't believe we're basically halfway through!

A new start!

Now that the rough stuff is basically behind me, I thought I'd start a new blog to share with family and friends about the rest of our adventure to July 15th. We found out in early November that we get to become parents this summer! We were hoping and praying for a baby, so we're definitely excited!

The first 18 weeks of pregnancy were basically the pits. I was constantly nauseous and often spent time losing the little bit of food I had been able to eat. But then, in almost an instant, my appetite returned and I have been back to myself....well, myself with a strangely round growing belly! I am almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight and at the rate I've been eating this past week, I should finally be gaining in no time!

We find out next Tuesday whether it's a boy or a girl that's been causing so much trouble in here and we can't wait to finally know! And no worries... we'll definitely spill the beans...we're no good at secrets! So vote on our polls, check back soon... and leave us a note if you do!
