If you insist...

Where have I been?   Well... potty training for starters!  That's right, my crazy little boy has decided he's ready to be a big boy.  I had NO intentions of starting this at 18 months old, but it just kinda happened, and I figured I better go with the flow ~ ha! I guess that has more than one meaning!  I had put him on the big potty one time before his bath just for the heck of it a few weeks back, and he didn't do anything, but he asked for toilet paper and then got off and said "flush it" so that was that.  Well the next night, he remembered, and he insisted on "pee pee polly?"  so I tried again, and what do you know?  He peed!  So then he started asking every time I changed his diaper and the rest is history.

Now we're well into it and overall, he's doing GREAT!   We're taking it slow and not forcing the issue... I mean seriously, the boy is only 19 months old!  But he's really getting the hang of it.  He goes pee-pee right away everytime we put him on the potty (typically about 5-6 times a day right now), and has even done the other stuff a couple of times now!  I still can't believe how content he is to sit on his little froggy-potty for like 20 minutes and just read or play with trains. He'll hate me for sharing all this one day, but it's so cute, he even looks down and says "Come on pee-pee, come on!"  :)

I'd really like to just take a few days and do nothing but potty training... let him run naked, whatever, because right now it's kinda hit or miss.  He still has wet diapers, but yet he's very interested and does a lot on the potty... but he's a little confused if we're out somewhere and he says "poopy" and then I don't take him to the potty.  So I think we need to just go ahead and try to seal the deal.  Crazy Crazy.  Where did my baby go???
