Counting Down...

Have you ever seen Design Remix on HGTV? It's where they basically redecorate a room in the house using items they already had from other rooms. Well... that concept is working quite well for our nursery! This weekend, Mike switched the brown curtains from the guest room with the bamboo panels we had in the nursery and it made such a huge difference! Now it's softer and browner... and they will help block the sunlight since the nursery gets full-sun all day long. Hopefully that'll help keep it cooler and darker so BabyW. can sleep! We are also using the bookshelf from the office and a funky blue light from the kitchen! Nothing like FREE decorating! Even so, another weekend has passed... and I still haven't reupholstered that glider!!! Just 6 weeks left! Yikes!

We did have a great weekend though... Saturday night we had our "End of an Era" party with a bunch of couples from church. Since our kid-free days are almost over, we wanted to have one last "adult" party at our place. Everyone brought over one of their favorite meals to share and we had some Margaritas, Daqueris, Pina Coladas (all baby-safe versions of course!) and had a great time. Then yesterday, Mike and I had a date-day together. We ate lunch at Watermans (where we had our Rehearsal Dinner), watched the airshow at the beach and then spent the afternoon at the Aquarium. We even had time to come home and relax a little (which for me meant a nap, and for Mike meant watching the Stanley Cup Finals!) It was a really fun way to spend the weekend, especially as the next two weeks are full of baby-stuff, and then we'll be halfway through June and BabyW. could arrive anytime! :)

Even better...

A girl's allowed to change her mind, right? Especially a pregnant one... :)

Last weekend we swapped out our two extra bedrooms. The downstairs guest room is now also doubling as an office, and upstairs is officially the nursery. That's not what I changed my mind about though... I changed my mind about painting! What I was surprised to find was that I actually kind of like the color that is already on the nursery walls! It may not be what I would pick if I was starting from scratch... but I really like the addition of teal to the brown, blue & white color scheme I had already started. It's really soothing... reminds me of the Caribbean! I think with some flowing white curtains it will be perfect! & so Mike is spared a weekend of painting! Yay!

Getting Antsy

I love to decorate. I've been brainstorming nursery ideas since long before we were even pregnant.... it's just my thing - I enjoy it! So here's the dilemma: since we are hoping to sell our condo... it doesn't make much sense to paint and decorate a room in our current home when we're hoping there's still a chance we could move before BabyW. arrives.

But...I still really want to! My logical side has been holding me back... but now that we're only like 10 weeks away from July, I'm really getting restless to setup his room. Our original plan was that if the house hadn't sold by June 1st, we'd decorate then... but that's not leaving much time! And we already have 2 weekends full in June. Hmmm... maybe I'll just get some paint samples this weekend. :) I really LOVE this idea for the walls... but maybe I'll just go simple, and forego the stripes since there's a hopeful possibility we won't be living here too long. But aren't the stripes great?! (sigh...) What do you think? Vote on the right.

Bumbleride Stroller

We have researched our hearts out for a great stroller. We'd like to have something that will not only be nice for this baby, but hopefully for future kiddos as well. A few priorities have been: quality, manuverablity, comfort, lightweight, style, longevity. After reading countless great reviews, we've settled on the Bumbleride Flyer and have registered for it in the color "Seagrass" and we are really excited about it! Today I found a contest to win one in "Spice" so I'm entering... and if you want to enter too to try to win it for me, that would be GREAT! :) Here's the LINK TO ENTER THE CONTEST. You just have to leave your first name, email address and a quick comment saying why you want to win. :)
